Role & responsibilities:
Ship operators play a crucial role in the overall efficiency and safety of maritime operations. Their responsibilities extend beyond the voyage itself and involve a comprehensive approach to managing various aspects of ship operations.
Upon Agency Appointment: Prior Vessel Arrival:
- Help vessel from the time being appointed, providing port parameters, pre-arrival documentation, port position / line-ups on daily basis, berthing prospects, pilot booking for berthing, etc.
- Keeping Master / Owners / Charterers posted per day to day things.
- Sending ETA notices to all the stake-holders including terminal, etc.
Post Vessel Arrival: Prior Berthing / Post Berthing / Commencement of Operations:
- Liaise with respective branch office / Monitor vessel boarding of authorities, viz. Customs, Immigration, Port Health, etc.
- Maintain communication with relevant stakeholders, including port authorities, customs officials, ship owners, and charterers.
- Keep stakeholders, vessel owners / charterers, Master updated per berthing prospects.
- Tendering NOR on Masters behalf.
- Coordinate with branch operations for the latest operational information, and keep all concerned duly posted.
- Monitor services to be provided to the ship.
- Keep all parties informed of any delays, changes in schedule, or other pertinent information.
After Completion of Operations / After Sailing of Vessel:
- Prepare PST file for future records.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or damages that occurred during the voyage to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of the vessel's operations, maintenance, and other relevant activities.
- Ensure that records are organized and easily accessible for audits or inspections. Enhance basic communication skills for the Operation/Retrieving Staff.
- Immediately escalate unusual matters to concerned Team Leader / HOD
Preferred candidate profile:
1. Candidate should be a minimum graduate from any stream.
2. Candidate should have a minimum work experience of 4 to 5 years in shipping operations.
3. Candidate should have excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
4. Candidate should be able to do multi-tasking and meet deadlines .
5. Candidate should have a go getter attitude with virtuous convincing power .
6. Candidate should have sound knowledge of vessel daily operations (vessel movements, documents etc.)
