Lead AI Engineer
Location: Bengaluru (On-site) | 5-day work week
Compensation: ₹40–60 LPA (Cash) + ₹0–20 LPA (ESOPs) — stretchable for exceptional candidates
About the Role
We are looking for a Lead AI Engineer to drive the research and deployment of next-generation perception and generative AI systems that power our autonomous construction robots. You will own the full lifecycle — from model architecture and large-scale data pipelines to edge deployment on real hardware — working at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and production robotics.
Must-Haves
- 8+ years in deep learning R&D, or a PhD/MS in CS/EE/Robotics with a strong publication record
- Demonstrated expertise in diffusion models (DDPM, LDM, ControlNet) and Vision-Language Models (CLIP, BLIP-2, LLaVA)
- Proven experience building large-scale data pipelines — active learning, pseudo-labeling, synthetic data generation
- Advanced proficiency in Python, PyTorch/JAX, and scalable training frameworks (DeepSpeed, Ray, PyTorch Lightning)
- Edge AI deployment experience — TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, CUDA/C++ optimization on Jetson-class devices
What You'll Do
- Lead research and development of diffusion and vision-language models tailored to construction robotics use cases
- Architect and scale data pipelines for active learning, pseudo-labeling, and synthetic data generation
- Own model training at scale using distributed frameworks and drive optimization for real-time, on-device inference
- Deploy and optimize models on edge hardware (Jetson-class devices) for production robots operating on live sites
- Collaborate closely with robotics, perception, and hardware teams to ship AI capabilities into deployed systems
- Mentor and guide engineers, setting technical direction for the AI team
Pay: ₹4,000,000.00 - ₹6,000,000.00 per year
