Position: Duty Manager
Department: Cinema Operations
Location: PVR INOX Cinemas
Reporting To: Cinema General Manager / Unit Head
Role Purpose
The Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of cinema operations during assigned shifts. The role involves managing the cinema team, maintaining high standards of guest experience, ensuring operational readiness, monitoring revenue and cash processes, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Cinema Operations
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the cinema during the assigned shift.
- Conduct pre-opening and regular operational rounds to ensure all areas are ready for business.
- Monitor show readiness, including auditoriums, projection, sound, cleanliness, air-conditioning, lighting, and other facilities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, F&B, and other support teams for timely resolution of operational issues.
- Ensure all shows start and operate as per the scheduled timings.
2. Team Management
- Manage and supervise Duty Officers, Service Associates, Box Office, F&B, and other operational team members.
- Allocate manpower according to business requirements and shift operations.
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate important operational updates.
- Monitor employee grooming, discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies.
- Coach, motivate, and provide on-the-job guidance to team members.
3. Guest Experience
- Ensure a high standard of customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Personally handle escalated guest complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor guest feedback and take corrective action wherever required.
- Ensure staff maintain proper grooming, communication, and service standards.
4. Revenue & Cash Management
- Monitor Box Office, Food & Beverage, and other revenue-generating operations during the shift.
- Ensure adherence to cash handling procedures, billing processes, and internal controls.
- Monitor cash shortages, excesses, refunds, voids, and other transactions as per company policy.
- Support initiatives to improve revenue and achieve cinema business targets.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company SOPs, statutory requirements, and safety regulations.
- Monitor fire and life safety equipment and ensure emergency exits are accessible.
- Handle emergencies, incidents, evacuations, and other critical situations as per established procedures.
- Report any safety, security, or operational concerns to the Cinema General Manager immediately.
6. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and share shift reports, incident reports, and operational updates as required.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communication of pending issues.
- Follow up on maintenance and operational concerns until closure.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for smooth business operations.

Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
- Candidates with relevant experience in hospitality, retail, entertainment, aviation, or service industries will be preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in operations, hospitality, retail, entertainment, or customer service.
- Previous supervisory or team-handling experience will be preferred.

Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- The role requires active floor presence and continuous monitoring of cinema operations.
