Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager with a proven track record in the Steel Service Centre or Metal Processing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and expanding Metalex's market presence throughout Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business growth across Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
- Generate new business for Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and Aluminium strips, sheets, coils, and value-added processed products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, engineering companies, fabricators, electrical panel manufacturers, automotive component manufacturers, EPC contractors, and industrial customers.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and successfully close orders.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely execution of customer requirements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing to identify new business opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong after-sales support.
- Prepare sales forecasts, customer visit reports, MIS reports, and market intelligence.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain healthy customer accounts.
- Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, technical discussions, and industry events.

Experience Required
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant sales experience.
- Experience must be from:

- Steel Distribution/Trading Companies
- Proven sales record in Steel, Copper, and Aluminium products is mandatory.
- Strong customer network across Chennai and Tamil Nadu is essential.
