We are looking for an experienced and highly organised House Manager to take complete responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of a private residence in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
The residence has an established team of approximately 10 household staff members. This is the family's first time appointing a dedicated House Manager, making the role ideal for someone who can bring structure, professionalism and clear systems while maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with the existing team.
Oversee the overall day-to-day functioning and upkeep of the residence.
Supervise, coordinate and manage approximately 10 household staff.
Establish clear staff routines, responsibilities, schedules and reporting structures.
Manage staff attendance, performance, leave and daily deployment.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, maintenance and service.
Coordinate with external vendors, technicians, maintenance teams and service providers.
Monitor household inventories, groceries, supplies and other regular requirements.
Ensure the apartment is maintained to a consistently high standard.
Identify maintenance requirements and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
Introduce practical SOPs and professional household management systems without unnecessarily disrupting the existing staff structure.
Maintain household records, schedules and basic administrative documentation.
Coordinate directly with the family, anticipate their requirements and ensure timely execution.
Handle all household matters with complete discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
The ideal candidate should have:
Prior experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager, Residence Manager or Senior Household Supervisor in a private residence.
Strong experience in household operations and staff management.
Proven ability to manage an existing team of approximately 10 staff members.
Maturity and diplomacy to work with long-standing household staff.
Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, maintenance, inventory management and vendor coordination.
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
A well-groomed, presentable, disciplined and service-oriented personality.
Comfort working in a vegetarian household.
Formal House Management training will be an advantage.
A genuine interest in a stable, long-term association with the family.
Someone who is hands-on, responsible, organised and people-oriented, with the ability to bring professional structure to an established household while ensuring the family's comfort, privacy and requirements remain the priority.
