We are looking for a Senior Principal / Principal Engineer, CSA (Civil Structural Architecture), to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will be based in Juinagar, India. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week. Role may entail travel within India, US, Europe and Asia.
In this role, you will lead the CSA engineering design and development of support structures of all ‘outside the energy server’ systems suitable for large scale deployment. You will contribute towards creation of standard and modular optimized architecture and design for all the Balance of Plant systems such as gas and water distributions, airflow management structures, carbon capture and heat integration systems. You will lead cohesiveness of all the CSA internal teams connected with these initiatives, define requirements for external vendors, consultants and be the point of contact for CSA work with external consultants and contractors.
The ideal candidate has a combination of hands-on experience, leading CSA engineering for large scale systems, product design and leadership skills; particularly rich experience in process industry, large hydrogen generation or BESS installation works, plant utility process design and understanding of standardization and modularization of designs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop robust, scalable and modular support structure designs for Balance of Plant of next-generation Bloom energy systems including Carbon Capture and Heat Integration
- Own Concepts ready for deployment for these systems for Gigawatt sites
- Develop reference structural designs to build optimal standard and modular systems and work closely with Installation team to ensure all critical requirements are met in the large-scale deployment
- Drive/Guide a cross functional teal to develop engineering deliverables such as STAAD, foundations, structural designs, land preparation, construction drawings, 3D models etc.
- Lead support structure development and optimization of sub-systems / prototypes for product / balance of plant by driving internal external teams
- Manage and collaborate with key stakeholders (both internal and external) and engineering consultants to support FEED development of standard systems
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors’ (Masters’ preferred) Degree in Civil Engineering, with evidence of exceptional ability
- 20+ years of CSA engineering experience in various phases of development such as concept development, pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design
- Deep understanding of Internation Design Codes and Standards, particularly USA
- Proficient in developing, reviewing, and interpreting core engineering deliverables, including interpreting environmental and soil survey data, land preparation, STAAD preparation, seismic design, structures and joints optimized designs, ambient conditions and environmental regulation adaptation of designs, construction and fabrication drawings, specification of materials and testing requirements, guiding 3D modeling
- Deep understanding of international design codes and standards, particularly for the USA - PE in USA is a plus
- Proficiency in CSA software
- Proven track record of ownership of project delivery and customer interfacing
- Comfortable moving between large projects and new sub-system design structure development
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally and hit aggressive schedules
