We are looking for an experienced Automotive CAD Design Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens NX, CATIA V5/V6, and PolyWorks, specifically within the automotive interior and EV component development domain.
The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in the design and development of plastic, composite, hybrid molded, and lightweight automotive components, with a strong understanding of manufacturing feasibility, tooling requirements, GD&T, and product development processes.
Candidates must have worked on automotive OEM or Tier-1 projects involving PolyWorks-based engineering workflows, dimensional analysis, inspection data interpretation, and advanced component design.
Key ResponsibilitiesAutomotive Interior Systems Design
Design and develop automotive interior components including:
· Door Trim Systems
o Door Panels
o Armrests
o Hard Panels
o Map Pockets
· Instrument Panels & Cockpit Systems
o CoreBack Instrument Panels
o Seamless Airbag Integrated IP Systems
o Monomaterial Interior Components
o Cockpit Assemblies
· Overhead Console Systems
· Floor Console Systems
EV & Lightweight Engineering Components
Design and develop EV-focused and lightweight structures including:
· Thermal Insulation Components
· Electrical Insulation Components
· FiberFrame Structures
· CoreBack Technologies
· Hybrid Molding Components
· Composite and Lightweight Plastic Parts
CAD & Engineering Activities
· Create Class-A/Class-B/Class-C surfaces and production-ready 3D models.
· Develop complex assemblies, packaging layouts, and engineering drawings.
· Perform design validation considering manufacturing, tooling, assembly, and service requirements.
· Apply GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA considerations.
· Support engineering change management and design optimization activities.
· Collaborate with PLM/PDM teams for product data management using Teamcenter.
· Utilize PolyWorks for:
o Inspection data analysis
o Geometry validation
o Reverse engineering support
o Dimensional quality assessment
o Deviation analysis and reporting
· Participate in customer technical reviews and project discussions.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams including CAE, tooling, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 3 to 8 years of experience in Automotive Product Design and Development.
- Proven experience in automotive interior trim and lightweight component design.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers is highly preferred.
