Job Summary
Leading Ferro Alloys manufacturer is hiring an experienced Production Manager / GM for its Ferro Silicon plant equipped with 2 × 7.5 MVA submerged arc furnaces located at Byrnihat, Meghalaya.
The role involves complete responsibility for efficient furnace operations, production efficiency, process control, strict power consumption control, and coordination of production, mechanical, and electrical teams.
Company-provided bachelor accommodation and food available at plant premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day production operations of Ferro Silicon furnaces including manpower handling and their management.
- Ensure accurate PLC based batching of Raw Material with no deviation
- Ensure Rigorous Moisture testing and control of Reductants
- Ensure the Specific Power per Mt is kept well below industrial Standards
- Should be able to produce 70%- and 75%-Min Grade
- Ensure there is no powdering or powdering tendency material produced
- Ensure Daily production targets are met
- Ensure timely preventive maintenance for zero Unscheduled Breakdowns as there is Open Access scheduled power
- Ensure daily production reports are prepared timely and posted to Management
- Ensure Daily production bay is cleared with weighment of produced FG within 24hrs
- Ensure proper repair and preparations through the team that furnace shell is protected and molten metal is drained properly through taphole
- Ensure stable and efficient operation of 2 × 7.5 MVA furnaces.
- Monitor burden setting, charge mix, furnace parameters, and tapping operations.
- Optimize furnace productivity, recovery, and capacity utilization.
- Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, and Charging departments.
- Monitor furnace health, preventive maintenance, and process discipline.
Candidate Profile
- At least 10 years of Prior hands-on experience in Ferro Silicon production is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of submerged arc furnace operations and process control.
- Sound understanding of electrical and mechanical aspects of furnace functioning.
- Compulsory knowledge of Power Factor, Arching Zone, Metallurgy, Reactions, Stoichiometry Based Charge Burdon Calculations, etc
- Ability to lead plant teams and manage continuous operations efficiently.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
Qualification
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma / B.Sc / M.Sc in:Metallurgy will be most preferred.
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma / B.Sc / M.Scin Electrical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering can also be considered
