- Producing and finishing tool components with high accuracy.
- Repairing worn or damaged dies, molds, and fixtures used in auto parts production.
- Assembling tool parts to create press tools, molds, or jigs used for casting or machining.
- Using measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges to maintain precision.
- Understanding engineering drawings and dimensions to manufacture tools correctly.
- Ensuring tools are ready so production machines can make automobile components without delay.
Qualification
Common qualifications:
- ITI – Tool & Die Maker
- ITI – Machinist
- Diploma in Tool Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
