Minimum: 6–8 years in CNC machining / manufacturing engineering.
Ideal: 8–12 years with strong exposure to process planning, costing, jigs & fixtures, and vendor support.
Domain preference: Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, or Precision Machining.
Key Skills Required
1. Process Planning & DFM – Ability to prepare process sheets, optimize machining sequences, and assess manufacturability.
2. Fixture & Tooling Design – Proficiency in designing and validating jigs, fixtures, and tooling (mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic).
3. Costing & Cycle Time Estimation – Expertise in cycle time calculation, tooling costing, and part cost estimation.
4. GD&T & Tolerance Analysis – Strong understanding of GD&T, stack-up analysis, and inspection requirements.
5. Lean Manufacturing & Productivity Improvement – Hands-on experience in Kaizen, SMED, 5S, and process standardization.
