Job Title : Sourcing & Inventory Engineer
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sourcing & Inventory Engineer with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering to manage procurement activities, vendor coordination, and inventory control in our manufacturing operations. The role focuses on ensuring timely availability of materials while optimizing cost and stock levels.
Key Responsibilities:Sourcing / Procurement:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and finalize purchase orders
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, and consumables
- Maintain supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance
- Coordinate with production and planning teams for material requirements
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels and maintain optimum inventory
- Implement inventory control systems (FIFO, ABC analysis, etc.)
- Track inward and outward material movement
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation
- Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory
Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with production, quality, and logistics teams
- Maintain procurement and inventory records in ERP systems
- Prepare reports on stock status, purchase orders, and cost analysis
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering
- 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or inventory (freshers with strong knowledge can apply)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
Required Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Good understanding of inventory control techniques
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts
- Familiarity with cost reduction techniques
- Experience in manufacturing industry (automobile, engineering, etc.)
