Faculty in Optometry
Objective:
To manage and supervise optometry students, fostering their development for the betterment of the community.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure timely arrival to class, setting a professional example by being present and prepared at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Prepare thoroughly for teaching, meeting all challenges and requirements in educational methodology.

Adhere to all rules and regulations of the institution as updated periodically.

Develop and submit a course plan for each semester for approval by the HOD/Principal.

Complete the syllabus on time and submit internal assessment sheets as required.

Engage students effectively during the full class duration, ensuring no early departures.

Maintain accurate student attendance records daily and report frequent absentees to the HOD monthly.

Obtain advance approval for leave and ensure proper arrangements for class coverage. In emergencies, inform the HOD or senior faculty promptly.

Treat all students fairly, showing no partiality.

Be available for doubt clearance, aiming for a 100% pass rate in subjects taught.

Identify and provide additional support for academically disadvantaged students.

Evaluate students based on both class participation and lab/clinical postings.

Maintain good control over students, being strict yet respectful. Avoid using harsh language.

Participate in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities as assigned by the HOD/Principal (e.g., invigilating exams, assisting in admissions).

Attend training and seminars organized by management for faculty development.

Be prepared to teach at any Abate center if needed.

Focus on a practical-oriented education system to cultivate proficient optometrists for the community.

Properly utilize Embase software for LMS and marking student attendance. Faculty must ensure accurate and timely data entry in accordance with institutional guidelines.

Act as lab or class in charge to ensure smooth student coordination and support for campus recruitment and final project submissions.
