- M.Tech/MBA (Technology Management) preferred.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
Job Summary
The Deputy Manager – NPD (BESS) is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of Battery Energy Storage System products, from concept and design to prototype validation, certification, pilot production, and commercialization. The role requires strong technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), power electronics, thermal management, and cross-functional coordination to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective products. Similar industry roles emphasize end-to-end product development, testing, validation, compliance, and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
- Lead complete New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle for BESS products.
- Define product specifications based on customer and market requirements.
- Develop innovative BESS solutions for Utility, C&I, and Renewable Energy applications.
- Drive prototype development and product improvements.
System Design
- Design and integrate:
- Battery Packs & Modules
- Battery Management System (BMS)
- Power Conversion System (PCS)
- Energy Management System (EMS)
- Thermal Management System
- Fire Protection System
- Containerized BESS Solutions
Engineering & Validation
- Prepare engineering calculations and technical specifications.
- Conduct Design Verification (DVT), Product Validation (PVT), Reliability Testing and Environmental Testing.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
Compliance & Certification
- Coordinate certification with NABL/UL/IEC accredited laboratories.
