Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sports Journalist with a strong network across the sports ecosystem and proven expertise in sports reporting, media relations, and content creation. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of the Indian and international sports landscape, maintain strong relationships with athletes, sports federations, associations, coaches, media professionals, and industry stakeholders, and have exceptional storytelling abilities.
The candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality sports content, identifying exclusive stories, coordinating interviews, building industry relationships, and contributing to the organization's editorial and communication initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesSports Reporting & Editorial
- Research, write, edit, and publish high-quality sports news, feature articles, interviews, opinion pieces, and exclusive stories.
- Cover sporting events, press conferences, tournaments, launches, and athlete interactions.
- Generate unique story ideas and identify emerging trends within the sports industry.
- Ensure content is factual, engaging, well-researched, and delivered within deadlines.
Industry Networking & Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with athletes, coaches, sports federations, associations, leagues, government bodies, journalists, and media professionals.
- Coordinate interviews, media interactions, and exclusive editorial opportunities.
- Leverage industry connections to secure exclusive stories, insights, and collaborations.
- Represent the organization at sporting events and industry forums.
Content Development
- Develop compelling content for websites, digital platforms, newsletters, magazines, and social media.
- Write press releases, athlete profiles, event coverage, speeches, and thought leadership articles.
- Collaborate with the design and digital teams to create engaging multimedia content.
- Ensure editorial quality, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Research & Strategy
- Monitor sports news, policy updates, athlete performances, tournaments, and industry developments.
- Identify trending topics and recommend content opportunities that enhance audience engagement.
- Contribute innovative ideas for campaigns, editorial series, interviews, and sports-focused initiatives.
Collaboration
- Work closely with PR, marketing, social media, and creative teams to ensure integrated communication.
- Support brand campaigns through compelling sports content and strategic storytelling.
- Assist in planning editorial calendars and special coverage for major sporting events.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional command of English.
- Strong network within the sports ecosystem, including athletes, federations, sports authorities, journalists, and media professionals.
- Proven experience in sports journalism, editorial writing, and content development.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
