Role Overview,
We are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager for our Production unit to take full ownership of day-to-day factory operations including productivity. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning, executing, and delivering production orders on time and to the quality standards our global clients expect.
The right candidate will bring strong operational discipline, deep knowledge of knitwear manufacturing processes, and the ability to lead a multi-functional team. You will work directly with the founders and management team to drive efficiency, maintain quality, and scale output as CCG grows its international client base.
Key Responsibilities,
- Own the end-to-end production schedule from order confirmation to shipment, ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) against committed lead times
- Achieve daily production targets set by management
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with order book requirements
- Coordinate across knitting, cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, and packing to maintain smooth workflow
- Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks before they impact delivery timelines
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance team and maintain and enforce quality standards at all production stages
- Ensure compliance with CCG's certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX 100, Sedex, WRAP, ISO 9001:2015) through documentation and process discipline
- Willingness to work on ERP and other frameworks to maintain accountability.
- Directly manage production supervisors, section managers, and other production staff
- Drive workforce planning including shift allocation, headcount optimisation, and skill development
- Monitor and report on factory efficiency (output vs. capacity), line utilisation, and cost per unit
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality
- Provide daily and weekly production dashboards to leadership covering output, efficiency, quality, and delivery status
- Support investment decisions on machinery and infrastructure upgrades
Who We Are Looking For - Qualifications & Experience,
- 10–15 years of experience in knitwear or apparel manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior production management or GM role
- Deep knowledge of circular knit fabric manufacturing — jersey, interlock, rib, fleece, jacquard, and specialty constructions
- Strong understanding of garment washing and dyeing processes (pigment, reactive, indigo, enzyme, specialty washes)
- Proven track record managing production volumes of 1,000,000+ pieces per year
- Familiarity with export garment manufacturing and global brand quality standards
- Experience working with international clients across the US, EU, or Australian markets is an advantage
Skills & Competencies,
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills — able to manage multiple orders simultaneously without losing sight of detail
- Able to create and implement frameworks to increase productivity and accountability
- Comfortable with production dashboards, efficiency KPIs, and cost metrics
- Strong people management skills — able to motivate, develop, and hold a large team accountable
- Excellent communication skills in Tamil and English; additional languages an advantage
- Proficiency in production planning tools, ERP systems, or factory management software
- Hands-on leader who is as comfortable on the factory floor
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
