Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Paint Shop Operative with at least 2 years of experience in the automotive or OEM manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in surface preparation, paint application, and quality inspection while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation activities including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using spray painting equipment as per process specifications.
- Operate and maintain paint booth equipment, spray guns, and related tools.
- Monitor paint thickness, finish quality, and color consistency.
- Carry out touch-up and rectification work to meet quality standards.
- Inspect painted components for defects such as runs, orange peel, dust particles, or color mismatch.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations while handling paints and chemicals.
- Maintain housekeeping and implement 5S practices in the work area.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet daily production targets.
- Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an automotive or OEM paint shop.
- Knowledge of automotive paint systems, painting techniques, and surface preparation.
- Familiarity with spray painting equipment and paint booth operations.
- Understanding of paint quality standards and defect identification.
- Basic knowledge of PPE, chemical handling, and workplace safety.
