About Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer (FinOps) to drive cloud cost efficiency and financial governance across a portfolio of SaaS and hosted platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, FinOps practices, and cost optimization strategies across IBM Cloud (Classic & VPC Gen2), AWS, and Azure environments

What You'll Do:

Analyze cloud usage, billing, and consumption patterns across multiple products and business units.

Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, and underutilized cloud resources.

Lead migration initiatives from IBM Cloud Classic infrastructure to VPC Gen2 architecture.
-
Design and implement rightsizing recommendations for virtual machines, containers, and cloud services.
-
Develop and optimize auto-scaling strategies to balance performance and cost efficiency.
-
Implement storage tier optimization and lifecycle management policies.
-
Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Application teams to improve infrastructure efficiency.

Establish and govern FinOps best practices, including cost allocation, chargeback/showback models, tagging strategies, and budget management.

Build dashboards and executive reports that provide visibility into cloud spending, forecasts, utilization trends, and realized savings.

Perform log analysis, billing reviews, and usage assessments to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.

Monitor cloud resource utilization and ensure compliance with financial governance standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting 10-15% annual cloud cost reduction.

Ensure that optimization activities maintain application reliability, availability, performance, and SLA commitments.

Create operational documentation, optimization frameworks, and cloud governance guidelines.
Expertise You'll Bring:

Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud (Classic & VPC Gen2).

Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure.

Strong understanding of cloud architecture, pricing models, and cost drivers.

Experience in cloud cost analysis, optimization, forecasting, and reporting.

Knowledge of autoscaling, containerization, and distributed systems.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
-
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

Scripting expertise in Python and Shell.
-
FinOps Certified Practitioner.
-
Kubernetes/OpenShift cost optimization.
-
Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code.

Cloud cost management tools.
-
Database cost optimization (Db2, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

SaaS and multi-tenant architecture experience.
-
Strong ownership of cost optimization outcomes.

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
