The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, electronic components, packaging materials, and indirect supplies required for charger manufacturing. The role ensures uninterrupted production through timely procurement while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Source reliable suppliers for electronics components, raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
- Obtain competitive quotations and conduct comparative analysis.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Identify alternate vendors to reduce procurement risks and improve cost efficiency.
- Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
- Recommend new vendors and supplier development initiatives.
- Escalate procurement risks and critical shortages to management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including delayed deliveries, quality concerns, and shortages.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Planning, Store, and Quality departments to forecast material requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement to prevent production stoppages.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock while avoiding excess inventory.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiations and strategic sourcing.
- Monitor market trends and fluctuations in material prices.
- Prepare cost comparisons and procurement reports for management.
- Achieve annual procurement cost reduction targets.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs).
- Ensure all procurement documents are accurate and properly maintained.
- Verify invoices, GRNs, and purchase documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with Stores for material receipt and inventory updates.
- Work closely with Quality for incoming material inspections.
- Coordinate with Accounts for vendor payments and reconciliation.
- Support Production Planning by ensuring material availability.
