Founded in 2016, Back to Village (B2V) is a holistic initiative committed to revitalizing rural communities through sustainable practices. At its core, B2V embraces Climate Smart Farming, advocating for agricultural techniques that prioritize environmental stewardship and resilience to climate change. Number of Position: 1 (One)
Location: Bhubneswar, Odisha
Qualification: Master's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Development Studies, Sociology, Public Policy, Research, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in policy documentation, reporting, research, and data analysis.
- Prior experience working within the development sector / NGOs is highly preferred.
Competencies:
- Excellent technical report writing and professional documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and rigorous research abilities (both qualitative and quantitative).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to contribute technical inputs and assist in developing proposals and concept notes.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with a strict commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness and capacity to undertake field visits and interface directly with rural communities.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi is essential. Working knowledge or fluency in Odia will be a distinct advantage.
Job Responsibilities:
A. Project Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare, compile, and submit project, program, and event narrative reports within stipulated institutional and donor timelines.
- Coordinate closely with various internal departments to systematically collect data and information required for organizational and donor reporting.
- Produce periodic narrative updates, success stories, and briefs, and support their distribution to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive, project-wise documentation and records, ensuring regular updates and proper systematic archiving.
B. Project Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assist in monitoring project implementation and tracking overall progress against planned activities, performance indicators, and deliverables.
- Keep the Management regularly informed of project milestones, critical field developments, execution challenges, and programmatic achievements.
- Conduct regular, structured field visits to monitor activities on-ground, interface with beneficiaries, and collect primary information.
- Provide logistical and documentation support for project evaluations and impact assessments conducted by external agencies.
C. Research & Knowledge Management
- Assist in designing and conducting research studies, baseline/endline surveys, needs assessments, and subsequent data analysis.
- Document project learnings, case studies, field insights, and institutional best practices to enrich organizational knowledge.
- Facilitate the cross-sharing of knowledge, data, and insights across different project teams and administrative departments.
- Maintain clean records of field activities, farmer interactions, community meetings, and localized project achievements.
D. Proposal & Resource Development
- Assist and collaborate with senior management in drafting project proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest.
- Support overall resource mobilization efforts by conducting baseline background research, literature reviews, and drafting technical inputs.
E. General Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams and maintain harmonious relationships with external stakeholders.
- Perform any other related duties and professional tasks assigned by the supervisor or leadership from time to time.
Expected Travel:
- Travel at different project locations will be as required.
Salary: Rs. 60,000/-
