Job Summary
A Fire Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety equipment. The role ensures compliance with fire safety standards and regulations while maintaining system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and firefighting systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of fire safety equipment.
- Inspect fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, sprinklers, pumps, and alarm panels.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on fire protection systems.
- Conduct routine system testing and ensure proper functionality.
- Maintain service reports, inspection records, and maintenance logs.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and schematics.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and site teams for maintenance activities.
- Attend emergency breakdown calls and rectify issues promptly.
- Assist in commissioning and handover of fire protection systems.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of fire alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, and suppression systems.
- Understanding of fire safety codes and standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and at project sites.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Fire & Safety, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in fire protection system installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire alarm panels and firefighting equipment preferred.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or high-rise building projects.
- Basic computer knowledge for report preparation.
- Valid driving license will be an added advantage.
Salary
As per industry standards and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
