About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Finance / Finance Manager to own and manage the company's end-to-end financial operations. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned financial professional with at least 10 years of progressive experience who can bridge day-to-day bookkeeping with strategic financial management in a cross-border business environment.
You will work closely with the General Manager and Managing Director, serving as a trusted financial partner who ensures the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial activities across our Australia and other countries entities — while actively contributing to the company's long-term commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations
- Manage all daily financial transactions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliations across AU and other countries entities
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for employees in Australia and the Philippines, in compliance with applicable tax regulations, BIR requirements, and Australian payroll obligations
- Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions
- Maintain an audit-ready system of financial records and documentation across both jurisdictions
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
Financial Management & Strategy
- Develop, monitor, and analyze annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership
- Deliver clear financial analysis, variance reports, and performance dashboards to the General Manager and Managing Director
- Identify financial risks and opportunities across the business, providing actionable recommendations to optimize performance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian accounting standards, regulations in all applicable financial laws
- Design, implement, and continuously improve financial controls, policies, and internal procedures suited to a distributed team environment
- Support business cases, pricing strategies, and investment decisions through financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Contribute to long-term financial planning aligned with Distimax's growth strategy across the APAC region
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping and financial management
- At least 3 years of experience in Australian payroll processing and compliance (including PAYG, Superannuation, and related obligations)
- At least 3 years of experience using Xero accounting software
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA licensure is highly preferred
- Proven experience managing financial operations across multi-currency and cross-border environments (AU/PH exposure is a strong advantage)
- Background in IT distribution, technology, or product-based businesses is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance (both PH and AU context)
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks — experience with Australian-compliant platforms preferred
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, and dashboards
- Experience with payroll systems, Australian payroll obligations (Superannuation, PAYG)
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools and distributed team workflows (e.g., Google Workspace)
Core Competencies
- High degree of numerical accuracy and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage sensitive financial information with absolute discretion and integrity
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across time zones
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders including the Managing Director and department heads
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote/hybrid setup
- Collaborative team player who can build strong relationships
