Role Overview
We are looking for a QA / Business Analyst with 2–3 years of experience who can work across both Business Analysis and Quality Assurance activities.
The person should be able to understand and gather requirements, ask the right questions, identify gaps and edge cases, prepare clear documentation, coordinate with Developers and Designers, and perform testing when required.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys understanding how a feature should work from a business perspective as well as validating how it actually works in the product.
Key ResponsibilitiesRequirement Gathering & Analysis
- Understand requirements and the business objective behind a feature or change.
- Discuss requirements with Product/Business stakeholders and gather the necessary details.
- Identify missing information, assumptions, dependencies, validations, and edge cases.
- Ask relevant questions and get clarification before development starts.
- Understand end-to-end user flows and identify how a new change may affect existing functionality.
- Work with the Designer to ensure the proposed design supports the expected business flow.
- Work closely with Developers during implementation to clarify requirements and resolve functional questions.
Documentation
- Prepare clear and well-structured functional requirements and feature documentation.
- Document business rules, validations, scenarios, dependencies, and exceptions.
- Prepare user flows/process flows wherever required.
- Define acceptance criteria and expected behavior clearly.
- Keep documentation updated when requirements change.
- Ensure documentation is clear enough for both Development and QA teams to understand and implement/test the feature.
QA & Testing
- Prepare test scenarios and detailed test cases based on requirements and designs.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing as required.
- Validate the implementation against requirements and approved designs.
- Identify positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
- Perform basic API testing and validation when required.
- Identify, reproduce, and document defects with clear steps and expected vs. actual results.
- Retest fixes and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not impacted.
- Support release validation and production-readiness testing.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Business, Development, Design, QA, and Support teams.
- Participate in requirement discussions, grooming sessions, design discussions, and release planning.
- Help Developers understand business requirements and expected behavior.
- Work with QA to ensure requirements and edge cases are adequately covered during testing.
- Proactively communicate risks, dependencies, requirement gaps, and potential impact areas.
- Take ownership of assigned requirements and follow them through development and testing.
Technical Understanding
The candidate does not need to be a developer, but should have a good understanding of how web applications and APIs work.
Required
- Basic understanding of REST APIs.
- Understanding of GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE methods.
- Understanding of API request/response structure, parameters, headers, status codes, and JSON.
- Basic experience using Postman or similar tools for API testing.
- Understanding of how frontend, backend, APIs, and databases interact.
- Ability to understand application and user flows.
- Ability to read and understand basic API documentation.
- Basic understanding of web applications, authentication, sessions, and integrations.
Good to Have
- Basic SQL/database knowledge.
- Experience testing third-party API integrations.
- Experience with web and/or mobile application testing.
- Familiarity with application logs or debugging tools.
- Experience using Jira, Redmine, or similar project/task management tools.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience in a product-based or SaaS company.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in QA, Business Analysis, or a combined QA/BA role.
- Good requirement gathering and analysis skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Good experience writing test scenarios and test cases.
- Good understanding of functional and regression testing.
- Basic API testing knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify edge cases and ask the right questions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work closely with Developers and Designers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently when required

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Please Note:
We are not looking for a candidate who is only focused on manual testing or only on requirement documentation. The candidate should be comfortable with both sides of the role:
Understand → Analyze → Document → Clarify → Coordinate → Test → Validate
A candidate with strong QA experience and some BA/requirement analysis exposure, or a BA with good hands-on QA/testing experience, would be considered for this role.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
