We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead and oversee all production activities in our shipbuilding operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in shipbuilding or ship repair, with a strong understanding of production planning, workforce management, quality standards, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and monitor all production activities to ensure timely completion of shipbuilding projects.
- Develop and implement production schedules aligned with project timelines and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, Planning, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage fabrication, assembly, outfitting, welding, painting, and installation activities.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Monitor daily production progress and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Lead production meetings and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Implement productivity improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Ensure adherence to classification society requirements and client specifications.
- Supervise production supervisors, foremen, and shop-floor personnel.
- Control production costs while maintaining quality and delivery targets.
- Support commissioning and delivery activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding or ship repair, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of hull construction, piping, structural fabrication, outfitting, welding, and marine production processes.
- Familiarity with production planning tools and project management techniques.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and production documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
