Role : CAD Manager - Jewellery
Location- Sitapura, Jaipur
Working Days- 6
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling: Translate 2D hand-drawn sketches, reference images, or verbal concepts into precise 3D digital models using industry-standard software (e.g., MatrixGold, Rhino, or ZBrush).
- Manufacturing Feasibility: Ensure all designs are production-ready. This includes calculating metal weight, accounting for casting shrinkage, and ensuring structural integrity (e.g., wall thickness and prong durability).
- Gemstone Integration: Accurately design stone seats, pavé layouts, and complex settings (bezel, tension, channel) based on specific stone dimensions and counts.
- Photorealistic Rendering: Generate high-quality 3D renders and animations (using V-Ray or KeyShot) for client presentations, marketing materials, and e-commerce catalogs.
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed technical sheets (spec sheets) including stone manifests, metal types, and assembly instructions for the production team.
- Rapid Prototyping: Prepare and optimize STL/SLC files for 3D printing (SLA/DLP) or CNC milling; troubleshoot potential printing issues.
- Trend Analysis: Stay updated on global jewelry trends, new gemstone cuts, and emerging CAD/CAM technologies to keep designs competitive.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Rhino and jewelry-specific plugins like MatrixGold or RhinoGold. Familiarity with ZBrush for organic/sculpted designs is a major plus.
- Jewelry Anatomy: A deep understanding of how jewelry is constructed—specifically how pieces are soldered, polished, and set with stones.
- Gemology Knowledge: Basic understanding of gemstone properties, hardness, and cuts to ensure designs protect the stones while maximizing their brilliance.
- Communication: Strong ability to collaborate with Bench Jewelers to resolve design-to-bench conflicts.
- Design Interpretation: Act as the primary bridge between the client’s vision and the technical output; interpret abstract concepts, mood boards, or rough client sketches into functional 3D designs that maintain the original aesthetic intent.
Experience & Education:
- 10-15 years of experience in CAD design in jewellery manufacturing industry.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of styles and technical proficiency.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Jewellery Design or Product Design is preferred, though specialized CAD certification is often sufficient if backed by experience.
