Roles & Responsibilities – PG Psychology (IVF Fertility Counsellor):
- Provide emotional and psychological counselling to couples undergoing fertility treatments.
- Explain the IVF treatment journey, including procedures, timelines, expectations, and emotional challenges.
- Assess patients' emotional well-being and identify stress, anxiety, depression, or other psychological concerns.
- Offer coping strategies and stress management techniques throughout the fertility treatment process.
- Conduct individual, couple, and family counselling sessions as required.
- Educate patients about treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of treatment adherence.
- Coordinate with fertility specialists, nurses, embryologists, and care coordinators to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate counselling records, patient progress notes, and confidential documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during difficult treatment outcomes, including failed cycles or pregnancy loss.
