Role Overview
We are looking for a rigorous and detail-oriented Construction Quality Engineer (QA/QC Civil) to manage end-to-end site quality standards across our ongoing construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for enforcing the Project Quality Plan (PQP), executing field inspections, managing laboratory material testing, and ensuring strict compliance with Indian Standard (IS) codes, MoRTH specifications (for infrastructure/roads), and approved drawing details.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Quality Audits: Perform mandatory stage-wise inspections for earthworks, shuttering, reinforcement steel binding, pre-pour concrete checks, post-pour curing, and finishing works.
- Testing & Laboratory Management: Coordinate field and third-party laboratory tests for construction materials (cement, aggregates, steel rebar, concrete compressive strength, soil compaction/CBR, bitumen/asphalt) in line with relevant IS codes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain complete site quality records, including Request for Inspection (RFI) logs, concrete pour cards, test registers, calibration records of batching plants and lab equipment, and daily/weekly QA/QC MIS reports.
- NCR Management: Identify site defects or workmanship deviations, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track root-cause corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and prevent recurring issues.
- Vendor & Material Verification: Inspect inbound raw materials at the site against manufacturer test certificates (MTC), purchase orders, and project technical specifications.
- Method Statements & ITPs: Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Work Method Statements for each construction activity in coordination with the site execution team and client consultants.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of on-site QA/QC execution in civil building construction, industrial facilities, or highway/infrastructure projects.
- Standards Knowledge: Strong command of relevant Indian Standards (e.g., IS 456 for plain and reinforced concrete, IS 1786 for steel, IS 383 for aggregates, IS 2720 for soil testing) or MoRTH / IRC specifications where applicable.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with slump tests, core cutting, rebound hammer, cube casting/curing, soil dry density (core cutter / sand replacement), and reading structural GFC drawings.
- Digital Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and reading AutoCAD drawings.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
- Proven track record handling third-party client inspections and PMC (Project Management Consultant) handovers.
- Strong written communication and technical report writing skills
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
