Production Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and materials effectively.
- Monitor production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and stores departments.
2. Workforce Management
- Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians.
- Assign work and monitor employee performance.
- Conduct shift handovers and team briefings.
- Ensure discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products meet specified quality standards.
- Monitor process parameters and production records.
- Coordinate with the quality department to address defects and corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Safety & Housekeeping
- Enforce safety procedures and use of PPE.
- Conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S practices).
- Report and investigate accidents or near-miss incidents.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain production reports, shift reports, and inventory records.
- Track productivity, rejection rates, and downtime.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
Core Shooter Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities1. Core Making Operations
- Supervise core shooter machines and core production activities.
- Ensure cores are produced according to drawings and specifications.
- Verify correct sand mix, binder ratio, and shooting parameters.
2. Machine Monitoring
- Monitor machine performance and productivity.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Ensure tooling and core boxes are in good condition.
3. Quality Assurance
- Check dimensional accuracy and strength of cores.
- Monitor defects such as cracks, blowholes, and broken cores.
- Implement corrective actions for quality issues.
4. Material Management
- Control consumption of sand, resin, catalysts, and consumables.
- Ensure adequate material availability for uninterrupted production.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Enforce PPE usage and environmental regulations.
Fettling Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities1. Fettling Operations Management
- Supervise cleaning, grinding, cutting, and finishing of castings.
- Ensure castings meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Monitor workflow to achieve production targets.
2. Quality Inspection
- Inspect castings for excess metal, burrs, fins, and surface defects.
- Coordinate with quality inspectors for acceptance criteria.
- Reduce rejection and rework rates.
3. Equipment Supervision
- Monitor grinders, cutting machines, shot blasting equipment, and tools.
- Ensure timely maintenance and replacement of worn equipment.
4. Productivity Improvement
- Optimize manpower utilization.
- Reduce cycle time and improve throughput.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
5. Safety Management
- Ensure safe operation of grinding and cutting equipment.
- Monitor dust control systems and PPE compliance.
- Conduct safety training and risk assessments.
