IB Mathematics Faculty – Primary Years Programme (PYP) & Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Position Summary
The IB Mathematics Faculty is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging mathematics learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and framework. The teacher will foster inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of mathematical concepts while supporting the holistic development of students.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks.
- Develop inquiry-based, student-centred learning experiences that promote conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and learning styles of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Foster mathematical thinking, reasoning, communication, and application in real-world contexts.
- Promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities where appropriate.
Curriculum Planning and Implementation
- Collaborate with PYP and MYP teams to design, review, and implement curriculum units.
- Develop unit plans incorporating IB concepts, approaches to learning (ATL), learner profile attributes, and international-mindedness.
- Ensure alignment of teaching practices with IB standards and practices.
- Contribute to curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assessment and Reporting
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with IB expectations.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support academic growth.
- Prepare student reports and communicate progress effectively to parents and school leadership.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
Student Development and Well-being
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Encourage students to demonstrate the IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Participate actively in curriculum planning meetings, professional learning communities, and school events.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
- Contribute to school initiatives, exhibitions, projects, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development activities and IB training workshops.
- Stay current with developments in mathematics education and IB programmes.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and policies of the school.
- Support accreditation, evaluation, and quality assurance processes as required.
QualificationsEssential
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the primary and/or middle school level.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
Preferred
- IB PYP and/or MYP teaching experience.
- IB workshop certification or IB professional development training.
- Experience in international schools or multicultural educational environments.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
