Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with strong hands-on experience in coal trading operations, coal yard management, logistics and vehicle management.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete day-to-day operations of the coal yard, including coal loading/unloading, vehicle movement, stock handling, manpower management, dispatches and coordination with customers, transporters and internal teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoal Yard Operations
- Manage complete day-to-day coal yard operations.
- Supervise coal receiving, loading, unloading, stacking and dispatch activities.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of coal within the yard.
- Monitor coal stock, physical availability and yard utilization.
- Ensure smooth and timely loading/unloading operations.
- Coordinate with yard supervisors, loaders, operators, drivers and labour teams.
Logistics & Vehicle Management
- Manage day-to-day vehicle deployment and movement.
- Coordinate with transporters and drivers for timely vehicle placement.
- Monitor vehicle loading, dispatch and unloading schedules.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available vehicles.
- Track delays, breakdowns and operational issues and ensure quick resolution.
- Maintain proper records of vehicle movement and dispatches.
Employee & Team Management
- Manage and supervise yard and operational manpower.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor employee performance.
- Manage attendance, leave and manpower requirements.
- Ensure discipline and compliance with operational procedures.
- Coordinate between the coal yard, logistics, accounts and management teams.
Coal Trading Operations
- Should have practical understanding of coal trading business and related operational activities.
- Coordinate coal procurement, movement, loading and dispatch.
- Ensure orders/dispatches are executed as per agreed schedules.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, transporters and other stakeholders.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues independently.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate preferred; qualification in Operations/Logistics/Commerce will be an advantage.
- 6–7 years of total experience.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience specifically in coal trading business and coal yard management.
- Strong practical knowledge of coal loading, unloading, stacking and dispatch.
- Vehicle/fleet management experience is compulsory.
- Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation operations.
- Good manpower and team management skills.
- Should be capable of independently managing a coal yard and its daily operations.
- Strong coordination, decision-making and problem-solving ability.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in coal trading + yard + logistics operations will be strongly preferred.
Ideal Candidate: A practical, hands-on operations professional who can independently control coal yard operations, manpower, vehicles, loading/unloading and dispatches without continuous supervision from management.
Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
