Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Linux Administrator & AWS Cloud Engineer with 8 to 10 years of hands on technical experience to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise grade Linux servers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu), robust cloud management skills in Amazon Web Services (AWS), and strong capabilities in automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), performance tuning, security hardening, and high availability operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Linux System Administration & Engineering
. Provision, configure, and maintain Linux enterprise environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu Server).
. Perform advanced system administration tasks including OS upgrades, patch management, kernel tuning, user access management, and package management (yum, dnf, apt).
. Manage storage subsystems, including Logical Volume Management (LVM), SAN/NAS mounts, NFS, and file system maintenance.
. Troubleshooting complex operating system, hardware, networking, and application performance issues.
2. AWS Cloud Infrastructure Management
. Architect, build, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on AWS.
. Operate core AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, EBS, EFS, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling Groups, RDS, and ElastiCache.
. Manage containerized workloads using Docker and AWS container services (ECS / EKS).
. Implement cost optimization and resource usage strategies (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, right sizing).
3. Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
. Write and maintain robust shell scripts (Bash) and Python scripts for system monitoring, task automation, and maintenance routines.
. Build and integrate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
4. Security, Compliance & System Hardening
. Enforce enterprise security standards, CIS benchmarks, vulnerability scanning, and OS hardening procedures.
. Manage AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) role policies, security groups, network ACLs, and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle.
. Participate in internal and external audit compliance processes (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI DSS).
5. Operations, High Availability & Disaster Recovery
. Ensure system reliability, uptime, and high availability across multi AZ AWS environments.
. Design, test, and execute Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
. Monitor system metrics, setup automated alerts, and respond to critical system incidents.
. Serve as a senior technical escalation point and participate in an on call rotation schedule.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
. Experience: 8–10 years of dedicated experience in Linux System Administration, with at least 4+ years of hands on experience managing production AWS environments.
. Linux OS Expertise: Strong proficiency with RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu, command line utilities, systemd, boot sequences, and kernel diagnostics.
. AWS Expertise: Proven track record in managing enterprise AWS architectures, networking (VPC peering, Transit Gateway, VPNs), and IAM governance.
. Configuration Management & IaC: Hands on experience with Terraform and Ansible for environment provisioning and configuration.
. Scripting: Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation.
. Networking & Security: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, Firewalld/IPTables, VPN, SSL/TLS, load balancing, and routing.
. Database Administration Support: Experience supporting Linux based database servers (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle).
. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

. AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
