Job Title: MLT Faculty / Lecturer (MLT)
Department: Medical Laboratory Technology
Reports To: Head of Department (HOD)
Job Summary
MLT Faculty are responsible for teaching theoretical and practical subjects related to Medical Laboratory Technology. They train students in laboratory diagnostic techniques, quality control, and safe handling of biological samples while ensuring academic standards as per guidelines of University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (for laboratory quality standards).
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Duties
o Clinical Pathology
o Microbiology
o Biochemistry
o Hematology
o Immunology
o Histopathology
- Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, and presentations.
- Conduct classroom teaching and laboratory demonstrations.
2. Practical & Laboratory Training
o Sample collection and processing
o Use of laboratory equipment (microscope, centrifuge, analyzers)
o Laboratory safety and sterilization techniques
- Supervise practical sessions and maintain lab discipline.
3. Examination & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers and assignments.
- Conduct internal and practical examinations.
- Evaluate answer sheets and maintain academic records.
4. Laboratory Management
- Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Ensure proper calibration and quality control.
- Follow biomedical waste management guidelines.
5. Clinical Coordination
- Coordinate with hospitals and diagnostic labs for student internships.
- Monitor clinical training and maintain logbooks.
6. Administrative Duties
- Maintain student attendance and academic records.
- Assist in admission counseling and academic planning.
- Support inspections and accreditation processes.
Educational Qualification
For Diploma MLT
- B.Sc. MLT / Medical Laboratory Technology
OR
- B.Sc. in Microbiology / Biochemistry with laboratory experience.
For Degree MLT
- M.Sc. MLT / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Pathology (preferred).
- Teaching or clinical lab experience is desirable.
Experience Requirement
- Faculty: 0–2 years
- Senior Faculty: 3–5 years
