Job Summary
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for preparing and verifying quantity estimations, managing railway project documentation, drafting professional correspondence, and handling contractual and legal communications with Railway Authorities, clients, consultants, and government departments. The role requires strong technical knowledge, documentation skills, and familiarity with railway construction procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantity Analysis
- Prepare and verify BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
- Calculate quantities from approved drawings and site measurements.
- Prepare quantity reconciliation reports.
- Monitor executed quantities for client billing and subcontractor payments.
- Maintain quantity records and measurement books (MB).
- Coordinate with site engineers for daily work measurements.
- Support estimation and tender documentation.
2. Railway Department Coordination
- Prepare and submit technical documents to Railway Authorities.
- Coordinate with Railway officials regarding approvals, inspections, and compliance.
- Prepare progress reports and status updates.
- Ensure documentation complies with Railway standards and contract requirements.
- Maintain records of approvals, correspondence, and statutory documents.
3. Legal & Official Correspondence
- Draft professional letters, notices, replies, and official emails.
- Prepare responses to railway observations and contractual communications.
- Draft extension of time (EOT), variation, claim, and compliance letters.
- Coordinate with management regarding contractual matters.
- Maintain records of legal correspondence and document submissions.
4. Documentation & Contract Management
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Review contract clauses and technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing contractual claims and supporting documents.
- Maintain document control systems.
5. Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning Engineers, Billing Engineers, Consultants, and Railway Officials.
- Participate in technical meetings and prepare minutes of meetings (MOM).
- Follow up on pending approvals and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering).
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Railway or Infrastructure Projects.
- Experience in quantity surveying, billing, and railway documentation
