The Role’s Mission
As our Operations Lead, you are the key execution driver on the plant floor, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Your mission is to actively support and integrate three critical operational pillars—Moulding Production, Assembly Production, and the ISI Quality Lab—ensuring daily operations run efficiently, safely, and without error. Positioned as a high-potential, cross-functional leader, you will bridge the gap between higher-level strategy and daily shop-floor execution.
The Role: Cross-Functional Execution
This is a hands-on, on-site execution and coordination role requiring agility, strong problem-solving skills, and a multi-disciplinary mindset. You will support the day-to-day operations of the plant ecosystem—assisting with shift scheduling, ERP/BOM accuracy, quality lab testing, maintenance tracking, and vendor coordination.
Key Outcomes (First 6 Months)
- Shop-Floor Efficiency: Drive line-level execution in moulding and assembly to improve shift productivity, minimize machine downtime, and support high Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.
- BOM & ERP Accuracy: Conduct physical floor audits against ERP Bill of Materials (BOM) entries during production runs and New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure 100% data integrity.
- Quality Compliance: Assist in executing daily testing protocols within the ISI Quality Lab, maintaining flawless documentation in accordance with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) protocols.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Production Line Support & Floor Coordination
- Coordinate daily production schedules across Moulding and Assembly lines under the guidance of the Operations Manager to maximize machine and labour utilization.
- Identify real-time bottlenecks on the shop floor, working directly with supervisors and technicians to minimize waste, rework, and idle time.
2. ERP Maintenance & BOM Auditing
- Support the setup, updates, and routine audits of multi-level production Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams during prototype runs to verify material lists and ensure smooth transition into mass-production component structures.
3. ISI Quality Lab & Testing Execution
- Perform and oversee routine quality testing procedures in the ISI Quality Lab to ensure products comply with BIS statutory standards.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready testing logs and documentation for all production batches prior to market release.
4. Operational Procurement & Maintenance Tracking
- Track inventory levels of non-inventory consumables, tool spares, and machine replacement components to support zero-downtime operation.
- Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate with maintenance technicians and vendors for routine machine servicing and repairs.
5. Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination
- Assist in tracking production orders, raw material dispatch, and schedules for external contract manufacturers and OEM partners.
- Serve as an operational point of contact for vendor follow-ups, resolving routine logistical or material quality issues to preserve supply continuity.
6. Team Supervision & Continuous Improvement
- Guide and supervise shop-floor operators and shift supervisors, reinforcing safety protocols, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Track daily shift KPIs and assist the Operations Manager in identifying process improvement opportunities.
7. Note
As a leader within PMM LLP you recognize that additional tasks and projects may be assigned as needed to enable business objectives and goals.
What You Bring
- Hands-on Problem Solver: You thrive on the factory floor, pivot quickly when operational issues arise, and take pride in resolving technical challenges in real-time.
- Multi-Domain Curiosity: You possess an eager-to-learn mindset across plastic moulding, electro-mechanical assembly, quality compliance, and ERP systems.
- Process Discipline: You value structured execution, maintain precise documentation, and treat ERP accuracy and SOP compliance as essential habits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Plastic Technology).
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing operations experience in injection moulding, electro-mechanical assembly, or quality assurance environments.
- Compliance Exposure: Practical exposure or familiarity with BIS standards, ISI testing protocols, or manufacturing lab environments.
- Systems Mastery: Strong working knowledge of ERP manufacturing modules (BOM entry, inventory tracking) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Hindi to effectively communicate with plant leadership, vendors, and shop-floor operators.
