Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and result-driven Business Development Manager – Government Business with strong experience in handling Government e-Marketplace (GEM) sales. The ideal candidate will be a proactive “hunter” with a proven ability to manage the complete sales cycle—from lead generation to closure—within government and public sector domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and acquire new clients across government departments, semi-government organizations, PSUs, and educational institutions
- Drive end-to-end sales via the GEM portal (from prospecting to deal closure)
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet and exceed targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
- Handle techno-commercial bids and tendering processes
- Stay updated on government procurement policies and market trends
- Maintain and track sales pipeline, performance metrics, and reports
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution and high client satisfaction
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with the GEM portal and public procurement processes
- Strong understanding of tendering procedures and documentation
- Proven experience in government sales/business development
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for reporting and data handling)
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to work independently
