Position: Biomedical Engineer
Responsibilities
Equipment Management
- Install, commission, and demonstrate medical equipment at client locations and Antara facilities.
- Ensure timely delivery, installation, and retrieval of biomedical equipment.
- Inspect returned equipment to verify functionality and prepare it for redeployment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of medical equipment.
- Coordinate with OEMs and service vendors for major repairs, annual maintenance, and warranty support.
Preventive Maintenance & Quality
- Conduct weekly preventive maintenance checks on all biomedical equipment.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in excellent working condition and complies with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain service schedules and calibration records.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete documentation related to equipment installation, servicing, maintenance, calibration, and movement.
- Update equipment inventory and asset registers accurately.
- Ensure compliance with organizational SOPs, biomedical safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Vendor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors and OEMs for servicing, repairs, spare parts procurement, and preventive maintenance contracts.
- Maintain vendor documentation, service reports, invoices, and warranty records.
Equipment Hygiene & Safety
- Ensure fumigation, sanitization, and proper cleaning of medical equipment before deployment and after retrieval.
- Follow infection control and biomedical equipment handling protocols.
Technical Support
- Visit client locations regularly to resolve technical issues related to medical equipment.
- Provide prompt technical assistance to clinicians, nurses, caregivers, and operations teams.
- Conduct equipment demonstrations and user training for internal teams whenever required.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Biomedical Engineering or
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or Medical Equipment Technology.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in hospitals, healthcare organizations, medical device companies, home healthcare, or senior care.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of hospital and biomedical equipment.
- Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive servicing.
- Understanding of calibration, equipment safety, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of oxygen concentrators, patient monitors, suction machines, infusion pumps, wheelchairs, hospital beds, CPAP/BiPAP devices, nebulizers, and other patient care equipment will be preferred.
- Good documentation and inventory management skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and reporting.
