Job Purpose:
The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and customer support for fire fighting vehicles, fire pumps, and allied firefighting equipment. The role requires frequent travel to customer locations to ensure timely and efficient after-sales service while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out installation and commissioning of fire fighting vehicles, fire pumps, and related equipment at customer sites.
Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown service as per company standards.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and complete repairs within the committed turnaround time.
Conduct testing and performance checks after repairs and commissioning.
Provide operator training and demonstrations to customers on the safe and effective use of equipment.
Prepare service reports, inspection reports, warranty claims, and daily visit reports.
Coordinate with customers regarding service schedules and technical issues.
Support spare parts identification, ordering, and replacement.
Ensure all service activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.
Maintain service tools, equipment, and company assets in good condition.
Provide technical feedback to the design and manufacturing teams for product improvement.
Attend emergency service calls whenever required.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure excellent after-sales support.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
Experience:
2–5 years of experience in servicing fire fighting vehicles, commercial vehicles, pumps, hydraulic systems, or industrial equipment.
Fresh Diploma Engineers with good technical knowledge may also be considered.
Other Requirements:
Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler driving licence.
Readiness for extensive field travel.
Ability to respond to emergency service requirements.
Good physical fitness for field assignments.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and customer handling abilities.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and service documentation.
Ability to work independently under pressure.
Willingness to travel extensively across India.
