Having recently closed our Series-A funding round, we are scaling our engineering architecture to support millions of fresh devotees booking authentic Pujas, streaming live Darshans, and receiving holy Prasad globally.
Our business is moving incredibly fast, and our systems need to move faster. We are looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Engineer to anchor our core architecture, design scale-compatible systems, and help lead our lean tech team.
The Role Overview
This is not a "cog in the wheel" corporate job. You will be entering an early-stage, tight-knit team of 4 developers (including our CTO). As the Senior Engineer, your core competency will lie in Backend, Databases, and Cloud Infrastructure.
You will own features from architecture to deployment, ensuring that our hybrid cloud setup can handle massive traffic spikes during peak festival times. You will work side-by-side with the CTO to make critical engineering decisions, coordinate deliverables within the team, and establish robust coding and deployment standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Scalability: Architect, build, and maintain robust, high-throughput backend services that can easily scale alongside our exponential business growth.
- Database & Performance Optimization: Own our PostgreSQL database design, query optimization, indexing, and data modeling to ensure zero latency during high-concurrency peak events.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage, secure, and monitor our hybrid GCP & AWS cloud infrastructure. Build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines.
- End-to-End Ownership: Take complete accountability for features from local dev environment right up to production deployment (git commit to live).
- Technical Leadership: Coordinate daily development efforts with the existing 4-dev team, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior/mid-level engineers on best practices for building scalable systems.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- The Core Stack: Strong expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL. Deep understanding of database internals, optimization, and scaling strategies.
- Cloud & DevOps Prowess: Proven experience managing production environments on AWS and/or GCP (experience with hybrid setups is a massive bonus). Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern infrastructure-as-code practices.
- System Design Instincts: You know how to build distributed systems, handle caching (Redis/Memcached), design clean APIs, and decouple services where necessary.
- Full-Stack Context: While your core is Backend/Infra, you should have enough familiarity with our client stack (React, Next.js, React Native) to align seamlessly with frontend workflows.
