ROLE SUMMARY:
J.D. Jones & Co. (P) Ltd. is looking for a dynamic Purchase Manager to lead end-to-end procurement operations. The role involves managing high-volume purchase orders, driving cost optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a strong vendor network to support business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage procurement of raw materials, stores, spares, and machinery
* Handle 40–100+ active purchase orders with accuracy and timelines
* Develop and onboard reliable vendors; ensure competitive pricing
* Lead negotiations with domestic and international suppliers
* Coordinate with freight forwarders and clearing agents for imports
* Ensuring compliance with EPCG, Advance License, and customs regulations will be an added advantage.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams
* Track KPIs such as cost savings, lead time, and vendor performance
* Lead and guide the procurement team
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATION:
* B.E. / B.Tech / MBA in Supply Chain or related field
* 5–10 years of experience in industrial procurement
* Strong knowledge of import duties, HS codes, and compliance
* Experience in high-volume procurement and global sourcing
* Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred)
* *Advanced Excel skills (reporting, analysis, dashboards)
* *Excellent English communication, including drafting error-free professional emails
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in heavy machinery/capital goods procurement
* Exposure to audits and government liaison
* Supply chain certifications (CIPS, CSCMP, etc.)
