The Financial Counsellor is responsible for guiding patients and their families regarding financial matters related to treatment, insurance, billing, payment plans, and financial assistance. The role involves coordinating with insurance providers, explaining hospital charges, and ensuring smooth financial clearance procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment estimates and payment procedures.
- Explain insurance coverage, package details, and billing policies.
- Coordinate with insurance/TPA departments for approvals and claim processing.
- Assist patients in financial planning and payment options.
- Prepare cost estimates for medical procedures and hospital admissions.
- Maintain accurate patient financial records and documentation.
- Follow up on pending payments and approvals.
- Coordinate with billing, accounts, and clinical departments for smooth processing.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and financial regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle patient queries professionally.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Hospital Administration, or related field.
- Additional certification in finance or healthcare administration is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital billing, insurance coordination, finance counselling, or related field preferred.
Required Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of hospital billing and insurance procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency and MS Office knowledge.
- Strong counselling and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
