Role Overview:
CGI is seeking a highly experienced Technology Expert to provide strategic technology leadership for the Utilities Sub Business Unit. The role will be responsible for defining solution architectures, technology strategies, and enterprise technology roadmaps that enable successful client engagements across the utilities sector.
The Technology Expert will serve as the primary technology advisor to the Utilities sub business unit, providing architectural guidance for strategic pursuits, complex transformation programs, and technology modernization initiatives. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, domain experts, delivery teams, and CGI Prime BUs to develop differentiated technology solutions, address complex technical challenges, and strengthen CGI's Utilities technology capabilities.
Your future duties and responsibilities
1. Technology Leadership & Architecture
. Serve as the technology authority for the Utilities Sub Business Unit, providing strategic guidance on enterprise architecture, solution architecture, and technology strategy.
. Define end to end solution architectures that align business requirements with enterprise technology platforms and industry best practices.
. Develop technology roadmaps supporting digital transformation initiatives across utility organizations.
. Ensure solution architectures are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with CGI's architectural standards and governance.
. Provide architectural oversight across strategic client engagements and transformation programmes.
2. Solutioning & Business Development
. Lead technology solutioning for strategic pursuits, proposals, and RFP responses.
. Define technical approaches, architecture blueprints, integration strategies, and implementation roadmaps for client opportunities.
. Support client presentations, architecture discussions, technical workshops, and executive engagements during sales and solutioning activities.
. Provide technology leadership during bid reviews, solution assurance, and commercial evaluations.
3. Technology Consulting & Advisory
. Act as the primary technology advisor during discussions with CGI Prime BUs, ensuring alignment on enterprise architecture, technology direction, and delivery approaches.
. Provide expert guidance on technology selection, modernization strategies, cloud adoption, application transformation, and enterprise integration.
. Resolve complex technical and architectural challenges encountered during solution design and project delivery.
. Recommend innovative technologies and architectural patterns that improve business outcomes while reducing implementation risk.
4. Innovation & Technology Enablement
. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability within the Utilities industry.
. Drive adoption of Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data & Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Automation, Digital Platforms, and API led integration capabilities.
. Develop reusable reference architectures, technology accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for the Utilities practice.
. Collaborate with Prime BUs to leverage CGI's enterprise capabilities and technology assets.
5. Practice Development
. Strengthen the technical capability of the Utilities Sub Business Unit through mentoring, architecture reviews, and knowledge sharing.
. Establish architecture governance, technology standards, and design principles across Utilities engagements.
. Foster collaboration across consulting, delivery, engineering, and architecture teams to continuously improve solution quality and innovation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Required Experience
. 15–20+ years of experience in enterprise technology consulting, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles.
. Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise scale technology solutions for complex business transformation initiatives.
. Demonstrated experience leading technology solutioning for large proposals, strategic pursuits, and RFP responses.
. Proven expertise in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, application modernization, and systems integration.
. Experience working across multiple technology platforms and enterprise ecosystems within large organizations.
Qualifications
. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
. TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent enterprise architecture certifications are highly desirable.
. Additional certifications in cloud platforms, security, integration technologies, or enterprise architecture are an advantage.
