Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Fitter for our Fabrication Department. The candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembly, alignment, and preparation of fabricated components as per engineering drawings, measurements, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and measurements.
- Perform fitting, marking, cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembly of fabricated components.
- Carry out proper alignment, leveling, and dimensional checking of components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Prepare components for welding and ensure proper fit-up before welding.
- Check dimensions and quality of fabricated structures as per drawings and specifications.
- Work with welders and other fabrication team members to complete jobs efficiently.
- Identify and report dimensional or fabrication-related issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workplace cleanliness.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Complete assigned work within the required production schedule.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of fabrication and fitting work.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication/engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as measuring tape, vernier caliper, and square.
- Hands-on experience with cutting, grinding, drilling, and fit-up work.
- Knowledge of basic welding fit-up and fabrication processes.
- Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and alignment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Strong focus on quality and workplace safety.
Qualification
ITI – Fitter or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in a fabrication or engineering manufacturing company is preferred.
