Manager – Purchase (Project)
Department: Commercial – Project Procurement | Location: RSIPL – Project, Ramgarh | Reports to: Head – Commercial / Project Head
Purpose: Procure all project equipment, materials and services at the right specification, price and time — so that no milestone is held up for material and every commitment is competitively and auditably sourced.
Qualification: B.E. / Diploma in Engineering, or MBA in Materials Management / Supply Chain Management
Experience: 10–12 years of procurement experience in a Steel Plant, Power Plant, SMS, Rolling Mill or Integrated Steel Plant, handling capital equipment and project packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a verified vendor master with capability, capacity and financial standing assessed.
- Distinguish manufacturers from trading intermediaries and reach the principal wherever possible.
- Keep the vendor master current for OEM mergers, brand transfers and product discontinuation.
- Convert approved indents into complete RFQs with clear specification, scope and commercial terms.
- Prepare comparative statements and negotiate price, payment, delivery, warranty and LD terms.
- Place orders only after obtaining approvals under the delegation of authority.
- Align delivery schedules to project milestones; identify long-lead items early and expedite critical orders.
- Track category-wise commitment against sanctioned budget and report variance.
- Work with project engineering on specification freeze, drawing approval and pre-dispatch inspection.
- Maintain a complete auditable file for every order and protect confidentiality of commercial terms.
Pay: ₹10,872.30 - ₹37,151.12 per month
