Job Summary
The GPS Tracking Officer is responsible for monitoring company vehicles using GPS tracking systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation operations. This role focuses on real-time vehicle tracking, route optimization, driver behavior monitoring, and reporting to improve fleet performance and reduce operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor company vehicles in real time using GPS tracking software
- Track vehicle routes, speed, stops, fuel usage, and idle time
- Ensure drivers follow assigned routes, schedules, and company policies
- Identify and report unauthorized vehicle use, route deviations, or delays
- Communicate with drivers regarding route issues, emergencies, or operational updates
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly GPS and fleet performance reports
- Maintain accurate GPS records, trip logs, and vehicle movement history
- Assist in optimizing routes to reduce fuel consumption and delivery time
- Report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or suspicious activities immediately
- Coordinate with fleet, dispatch, and maintenance teams
- Ensure GPS devices are functioning properly and report technical issues
- Support compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
- Previous experience in fleet monitoring, dispatch, or GPS tracking (preferred)
- Knowledge of GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, email, reporting tools)
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
