Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing and clinical staff with patient movement, positioning, and transfers using safe techniques.
- Escort patients to diagnostic areas, operating rooms, and other departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, beds, and ward areas; change linens and dispose of waste as per hospital protocols.
- Deliver and collect supplies, lab samples, reports, and medications within the hospital.
- Support with basic patient care tasks such as serving meals and water, and assisting patients with non-clinical needs.
- Prepare beds and rooms for new admissions and after discharges.
- Handle stretchers, wheelchairs, and other transport equipment safely.
- Follow infection control, safety, and privacy guidelines at all times.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and patient concerns promptly to supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Hands-on experience working as a Ward Boy/Attendant in a hospital or clinic.
- Ability to lift, move, and assist patients safely; physically fit for standing and walking for long periods.
- Familiarity with hygiene standards, waste segregation, and basic infection control.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital setting.
- Basic knowledge of using wheelchairs, stretchers, and ward equipment.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
