Role Overview: We're looking for a Senior Merchandiser to own orders end-to-end — from product development and costing through production and shipment. You'll be the critical link between clients, design teams, vendors, and the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development & Sourcing
- Coordinate with design teams, review tech packs, and ensure production feasibility
- Source fabrics, trims, labels, and packaging; develop samples and coordinate fittings
- Suggest construction improvements and value engineering
Costing & Commercials:
- Prepare garment costings, analyze consumption and overheads, and lead price negotiations
- Ensure target margins are met; prepare quotations, POs, and costing sheets
Vendor Management:
- Develop and manage fabric and trim suppliers domestically and internationally
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms; evaluate vendor performance
Production Coordination:
- Create and manage T&A calendars; track orders from sampling to shipment
- Coordinate across cutting, stitching, embroidery, washing, finishing, and QC teams
- Monitor daily production status and proactively resolve bottlenecks
Client & Quality Management:
- Serve as primary client contact; provide regular updates and manage approvals
- Coordinate production inspections and work with QA to reduce defects and rework
Inventory, Documentation & Shipment:
- Plan raw material requirements; monitor inventory levels
- Maintain accurate records: POs, BOMs, cost sheets, T&A plans, and shipment docs
- Coordinate with logistics and export teams to ensure on-time dispatch
KPIs You'll Be Measured On:
- Commercial: Gross margin achievement, costing accuracy, vendor cost savings
- Production: On-time delivery %, sampling turnaround time, order completion rate
- Quality: First-pass approval rate, defect %, rework %
- Client: Satisfaction score, repeat order rate, response time
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Management, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, or related field
- 5–8+ years in fashion merchandising or apparel production
- Strong grasp of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, construction, and costing
- Experience with both domestic and export orders
- Skilled negotiator with strong vendor management abilities
- Excellent communicator with sharp organizational skills
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
