About Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer (FinOps) to drive cloud cost efficiency and financial governance across a portfolio of SaaS and hosted platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, FinOps practices, and cost optimization strategies across IBM Cloud (Classic & VPC Gen2), AWS, and Azure environments.

What You'll Do:

Analyze cloud usage, billing, and consumption patterns across multiple products.
-
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, and underutilized resources.

Drive migration from IBM Cloud Classic to VPC Gen2 architecture.
-
Implement rightsizing, auto-scaling, and storage tier optimization strategies.
-
Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and Engineering teams to improve architecture efficiency.
-
Implement and govern FinOps practices including cost allocation, tagging strategies, and budget tracking.
-
Build dashboards and reports for cost trends, forecasting, and savings achieved.
-
Perform log and usage analysis to detect inefficiencies.
-
Ensure optimization efforts do not impact SLAs, reliability, or performance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve 10–15% annual cloud cost reduction.
Expertise You'll Bring:

Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud (Classic & VPC Gen2).

Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure.
-
Strong understanding of cloud architecture, pricing models, and cost drivers.

Experience in cloud cost analysis, optimization, forecasting, and reporting.

Knowledge of autoscaling, containerization, and distributed systems.
-
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
-
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

Scripting expertise in Python and Shell.
-
FinOps Certified Practitioner.
-
Kubernetes/OpenShift cost optimization.
-
Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code.

Cloud cost management tools.
-
Database cost optimization (Db2, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

SaaS and multi-tenant architecture experience.

Strong ownership of cost optimization outcomes.

Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
