Profile: Design Engineer
Experience: 1-2 Years
Role: Execution-level roles responsible for preparing, updating, and submitting fire safety system designs based on project requirements and standards.
1. Design Execution
• Receive and understand project inputs (site plans, client needs, BOQ).
• Prepare AutoCAD/Revit drawings (sprinkler layouts, hydrant systems, alarms, etc.).
• Ensure designs are technically sound and compliant with applicable fire codes.
2. Timely Delivery
• Work as per defined timelines given by the Design Head.
• Flag any issues or delays in advance for resolution.
3. Revisions & Modifications
• Implement revisions as per DCR (Design Change Requests) logs.
• Track all changes with version control and notify the Design Head for approval.
4. Daily Reporting
• Update shared Design Tracker or Google Sheets regularly.
5. File Management
• Submit daily reports/logs detailing daily through WhatsApp groups or Software.
• Save files using the approved naming format.
• Maintain organized folders for every project (inputs, drafts, finals, revisions).
• Backup updated files at end of each working day.
6. Quality Check (Before Submission)
• Cross-check for:
o Correct symbols and line types
o Dimensions and scale
o Consistency with BOQ
o Compliance with NBC/NFPA
• Self-review using a checklist before submitting for approval.
7. Coordination
• Clarify any doubts from project/site teams by consulting the Design Head.
• Attend weekly internal meetings for design reviews and planning.
8. Continuous Learning
• Stay updated on new fire safety standards and design practices.
Participate in training sessions and software updates initiated by the Design Head.
