Job Title: MEP Engineer – Execution, Planning & Commercial Management

Qualification: B.E/Diploma – Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Job Summary:
Responsible for end-to-end execution, planning, and commercial management of MEP works in multi-storey residential projects, including drawing study, BOQ & budget preparation, work planning, material management, cost control, and billing.
Key Responsibilities:
Drawing Study & Technical Coordination
- Review and interpret MEP drawings (Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting)
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with civil/architectural teams
- Ensure proper implementation of drawings at site.
Work Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare detailed work plans and weekly/monthly MEP schedules
- Align MEP activities with overall construction program
- Monitor progress against planned schedule and take corrective actions
- Ensure timely completion of milestones without delays
BOQ & Budget Preparation
- Prepare detailed BOQ based on drawings and specifications
- Develop MEP budgets and cost estimates
- Monitor budget vs actual and highlight deviations
Quantity Take-Off & Cost Variation
- Perform quantity take-off for all MEP services
- Track variations due to design/site changes
- Prepare variation statements and support claims
Material Planning & Technical Knowledge
- Prepare material take-off and material requirement lists (MRL)
- Plan procurement as per work schedule
- Possess strong knowledge of MEP materials and specifications
- Suggest alternate materials/solutions where required
Material Control & Reconciliation
- Monitor consumption vs BOQ
- Prepare periodic reconciliation reports
- Control wastage and ensure optimal usage
Billing & Contractor Certification
- Conduct joint measurements and prepare RA bills
- Verify and certify subcontractor/vendor bills
- Maintain Measurement Book (MB) and billing records
Execution & Contractor Management
- Supervise site execution and ensure quality compliance
- Manage subcontractors and monitor productivity
- Coordinate with all stakeholders for smooth execution
Cost Control & Value Engineering
- Track project costs and identify overruns
- Recommend cost-effective solutions
- Implement value engineering practices
Problem Solving & Risk Management
- Identify risks and site challenges in advance
- Implement mitigation plans
- Provide practical solutions to avoid delays and rework
Compliance & Approvals (Chennai)
- Ensure compliance with IS codes and NBC standards
Key Skills:

Mandatory Requirement:
- Experience in at least one multi-storey residential project (G+5 or above)
- Exposure to execution + commercial functions
Preferred Profile:
- Strong planning and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of Chennai local authority processes
- Ability to independently handle MEP scope
