Job Summary
The Fuel Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for serving as a subject matter expert across the complete design of fuel systems and combustion equipment. The role will focus on fuel delivery systems and gas-fired low-NOx combustion technologies for wall-fired and tangentially fired boilers in the industrial and electric utility sectors.
Essential Responsibilities: • Serve as the lead design engineer on projects in the development of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams(P&IDS) for complete natural gas delivery systems.
- Design, specify and/or select appropriate equipment for responsible systems, such as natural gas filtration,pressure reduction and/or flow control equipment as well as burners system components and auxiliaries.
- Partners with other engineering groups as a cross-functional resource to meet project requirements.
- Provide proposal and sales support with customer presentations, consultative technical guidance, and projectfinancial estimates.
- Author field test procedures and reports, and lead service teams during fuel system commissioning andburner and emissions performance optimization and acceptance testing programs.
- Produce and present technical content at conferences while networking within the industry.
• Develop and/or maintain existing engineering standards for equipment sizing and performance predictions. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Bachelor of Science Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Master's degree in mechanical orchemical engineering preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years’ experience in the power or related industry.
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent analytical and computer skills including proficiency in use of Word and Excel.
- Must be organized and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, manage multiple projectssimultaneously and respond quickly to requests.
- 10% domestic travel with occasional international travel to support project requirement
