The Night-Duty Resident Medical Officer provides continuous medical coverage and clinical support across the hospital during night hours. The RMO is responsible for managing inpatient concerns, responding to emergencies, ensuring continuity of care, and coordinating with on-call consultants when needed. This role is vital to maintaining patient safety and hospital operations overnight.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate assessment and management of patients who deteriorate or require urgent medical attention during the night.
- Conduct ward rounds, review patient charts, and ensure appropriate documentation.
- Assess new admissions and prepare initial management plans under consultant guidance.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency treatments as required.
